Getting Alerted to Dangers
Technology has enabled instantaneous notification when dangers lurk. This is definitely the case in #miamibeach. Using Twitter can be one way. The City of Miami Beach also actively notifies residents, business owners and community participants via text message. If you'd like to receive notifications of events and developments that could be of concern, simply text
to 88877. This will allow the city to send updates directly to your phone, via text message. Examples of recent notifications have included active shooter notifications, or 'do not swim' advisories. The city has also recently sent out notices of broken water mains, which can pose dangers to pedestrians and motorists.
Additionally, you can sign up for a different notification system to receive traffic notifications. For this, text
to the same number, 88877.
